Day wise itinerary

Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP / IXB & transfer to Pheuntsholing – The Gateway of Bhutan by Road from India , Pheuntsholing (also sometimes spelled Phuntsholing) is the second largest town in Bhutan (population around 40,000) and is located on the Indian border, next to the town of Jaigaon , over Night Stay Pheuntsholing.

After an early breakfast move for immigration formalities after being done with immigration transfer to Thimphu, on arrival check-into the hotel.On the way visit: – Kharbandi Gumba, Gedu Town, Chukha Dam, Water Fall.Evening time can be spent strolling through the government-run Handicrafts Emporium and local crafts bazaar, to browse through examples of Bhutan’s fine traditional arts. Here you can buy hand-woven textiles, thangka paintings, masks, ceramics, slate and wood carvings, jewellery, and interesting items made from local materials.Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu. (Altitude 2,320m)

After breakfast, we will start exploring Thimphu City with a visit to its cultural sites: Mini Zoo, houses the national animal-Takin will be a place of interest to visit. The 4th King at one point wanted the animals to be released to the forest but they kept moving around Thimphu town and had to be re-confined at the enclosure. Afterward, take a ride to Sanjaygang to have a bird’s eye view of Thimphu valley as well as to have some snap shots of the big apple of Bhutan. Next, if you are interests, Bhutan Post, as they have a good collection of stamps which the Bhutan is known for. They can also print stamps with your photo at a nominal charge, which you can take as souvenirs back home. Then, visit the handmade paper factory, where traditional paper is made out of inner pulp of daphne and edgeworthia plants. Before it is being processed into paper, the pulp is soaked, boiled, and grinded to a fine pulp and only then laid into a layer of sheets. The process is quite labour intensive, but worth it. In Bhutan it is mainly used for printing Buddhist Holy Scriptures, souvenirs and some are exported to international markets such as North America, Asia and Europe. They have a showroom where the products are on display. Next, take a ride to the Buddha Point (Kuenselphodrang), where the tallest Buddha statue, which is 161 ft and still under construction and enjoy the view of southern parts of Thimphu valley. Over night Stay Thimphu.

Altitude: 2350m 65kms / 2 hrs After breakfast, drive to the capital – Thimphu. Upon arrival, see manuscripts, written in gold at the National Library. Also stop at a school where traditional style of Thangka painting is taught. Next, visit the Folk Heritage Museum. After lunch, visit Memorial Choeten – a stupa with detailed religious wall paintings & sculptures. Then visit the 14th century Changangkha Lhakhang, a popular worshipping spot for locals. Later drive to Sangaygang viewpoint, usually thronged by young couples. Then visit a nunnery, Then over night stay Thimphu hotel.

    Post breakfast, check out from the hotel in  Thimphu and our representative will drive you to Paro. It is a delightful valley town in Bhutan known for several religious sites. Paro is the only place in Bhutan which has an international airport. It is one of the most challenging airports in the world and beautiful as well. After arriving in Paro, check in at the hotel. Relax and freshen up.

Later explore this charming valley and its famous attractions such as Ta Dzong, the National Museum of Paro with around 3000 artifacts dating back to 1500 years ago, and Paro Dzong. Remaining day at leisure. Also visit Paro Dzong, a famous Buddhist monastery and fortress. It is one of the best examples of Bhutanese architecture. Return to the hotel.

Stay overnight at the hotel in Paro.

Post breakfast get ready for Paro sightseeing. We will take you to some of the best Paro attractions such as Kyichu Lhakhang, an ancient temple in Bhutan where devotees come from far and wide. Visit a local farmhouse, where you can interact with local people and see their lifestyle.Post sightseeing, return to the hotel and spend the remaining day at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel in Phuntsholing.

Today marks the end of your tour, offering you amazing memories! Post breakfast, check out from the hotel and then our representative will drive you to the airport for your onward journey.
